The Cedar Creek Paddle Club
Some call it exercise. We call it being on the lake.
You’ll get just enough movement to feel it—and plenty of time to enjoy the water, the sun light, and whatever birds decide to join.
Have your own Kayak? Bring it.
Need one? We have a few to share.
New to paddling? You’ll fit right in.
Upcoming Paddle -Sandy’s Lake Escape
Sometimes, the best kind of movement doesn’t feel like exercise at all.
Join us for a sunset paddle—fresh air, gentle movement, and a chance to stay strong without stepping into a gym.
We launch from Sandy’s Lake Escape at 6:30 PM for a 90-minute paddle designed to work the shoulders, core, back—and your mood.
✅ Steady pace, easy on the joints
✅ No experience needed
✅ 2 kayaks available (reserve in advance - no rental fee)
Paddle Highlights
May 12: Paddle at Sandy’s Lake Escape
1.5 miles • Gentle to moderate pace • Hidden lake history
Along the way, we passed an old fishing pier—its weathered benches still facing the water like they were waiting for someone to cast just one more line. Then came the remains of the original Highway 85 bridge, a quiet reminder of Gun Barrel City’s early days.
Wildlife was everywhere. Birds barely flinched as we floated by, and even the dog stayed quiet—just watching, like he’d done it a hundred times before.
This is what Cedar Creek Paddle Club is all about:
Natural movement, local history, and lake life.

May 3: Kickoff Paddle at Sandy’s Lake Escape
Summer started strong with our first kayak meet-up of the season—and it couldn’t have been a better day to launch.
Calm water. Crisp air. Good company.
The kind of day we live for at Cedar Creek Lake.
We paddled out slow, soaked up the sunshine, and settled in for an evening of community around the fire. There was no gym, no pressure—just real movement, connection, and the kind of lake life you can’t bottle.
