Cedar Creek Paddle Club – May 12 Highlights

We paddled a triangle-shaped route today.

1.5 miles, 1.2 avg. mph, 1 hr 15 min.

We drifted past an old, abandoned fishing pier, its weathered benches still facing the water like they're waiting for someone to return and cast just one more line. Then we circled the remains of the old Highway 85 bridge, a relic from when Gun Barrel City was a one-lane town. Hidden history like this only shows up when you take the water route.

And the wildlife? Incredible. We paddled so quietly that the birds barely noticed us. Even the dog—normally a bird-barker—just sat still, taking it all in like a seasoned explorer.

This is what the Cedar Creek Paddle Club is all about:
Movement, discovery, and lake life well-lived.

Come join us next time. You never know what you’ll find—or how good you’ll feel after 1.5 miles of natural movement.
