Looking to meet new friends while soaking up summer vibes? Join us at TARA Winery for a relaxing afternoon by the pool. Enjoy good company, cool drinks, and poolside snacks—all set against the backdrop of local vineyards and East Texas sunshine.
This is a perfect chance to support local, make real connections, and experience the best of lake life in style.

🐾 Yappy Hour @ The Eight (by The Tool Bark Club)
Wednesdays: May 28, & June 11 • 5:30 PM
Because your dog deserves a social life, too! Join The Tool Bark Club for Tool’s favorite weekday wind-down.
Start out by the food trucks and mingle with fellow dog lovers before strolling the scenic trails at The Eight. We wrap up at the off-leash dog park where tails. Whether you’re new to the area or just love a good patio + pup combo, this is your midweek pick-me-up.
Cedar Creek Paddle Club – June 10

This Sunset Paddle is all about natural movement, easygoing exploration, and connecting with others who love the water. We’ll paddle out along a scenic route just long enough to feel accomplished—but relaxed enough to enjoy every moment.
Need a kayak? We have 2 available—free to use, just reserve in advance. First come, first served!

Cedar Creek Paddle Club – May 12 Highlights
We paddled a triangle-shaped route today.
1.5 miles, 1.2 avg. mph, 1 hr 15 min.
We drifted past an old, abandoned fishing pier, its weathered benches still facing the water like they're waiting for someone to return and cast just one more line. Then we circled the remains of the old Highway 85 bridge, a relic from when Gun Barrel City was a one-lane town. Hidden history like this only shows up when you take the water route.
And the wildlife? Incredible. We paddled so quietly that the birds barely noticed us. Even the dog—normally a bird-barker—just sat still, taking it all in like a seasoned explorer.
